The Tsibinkies, a book written by Linda Kumalo, is a literature book for young children. The stories are inspired by real children and real circumstances that young children go through on a daily basis. Linda wrote the book to ensure the voices of learners are heard. The stories are completed by learners and are stories that their peers can relate to. In collaborating with learners to write these stories, Linda has awakened the spirit of leadership in the learners from a young age by allowing them to see themselves as authors, writers and storytellers.
The book consists of four fun and interesting stories aimed at building and strengthening children’s moral, social and reading skills. The main characters in the stories are known as, The Tsibinkies, and they are four smart bees who love spreading the gospel of God and sharing the importance of having social and moralistic values amongst young children across South Africa. Some of the issues that the book tackles include bullying and environmental awareness.

Next steps for the book is to expand the reach of the book to children in other communities. Linda would like to create mascots that represent characters from the book and do roadshows at schools whether the characters will educate young kids on issues that affect them.
